A passport is a travel document. It is used for international travel. It is a certificate to verify the identity and nationality of the holder. It is issued by a country’s government to its citizens. Passports consist of a small booklet. It contains the bearer’s name, birth place, birth date, the date of issue & expiry, passport number, bearer's photo and signature.
3 types - Ordinary, diplomatic & official passport. Ordinary passport is assigned to all private citizens. The other two types of passports are assigned to government workers for the purpose of overseas travel for official work only.
Indian citizenship is the eligibility. You can get that by being born in the country. If you are born elsewhere, then you must have one Indian parent or by being granted citizenship by the country via any naturalization process.
In the case of Passport being lost, stolen or expirted; you can report to the police and apply for a re-issue passport.

Yes, you can cancel or reschedule the appointment for 2 times within the same year of first appointment date.
PSK is a Passport Service Kendra – it is the passport office where you can get information about your passport and apply for either a new or renewal of an existing passport. There are a lot of PSK offices across every region in India.
If you have lost your passport while traveling abroad or have relocated to a foreign country permanently, then you can apply for a new or re-issue Indian passport. Indian Embassies, Consulates and High Commissions are authorized to to do that.

No, that is not possible. Only you can attend your passport interview in any circumstances like - if you are sick or have any other very important assignment. You are only allowed to bring someone with you if you cannot travel alone.
